Am I the only one to find it humorous that permabulls only think price matters on the way up?

Trader mentality.

Microsoft doesn't care about BTC price, neither does immigrant sending money back to his/her country, or the people dealing on silkroad 99.0, nor the tippers (well to small degree). Non of them carry the currency risk. At what point the demand for these use cases will meet supply who knows, but it's hard to argue that there won't be any new use cases.

Traders and miners are getting slaughtered though.

I don't think seasoned traders are getting slaughtered to be honest. When there's blood on the streets, there's money to be made. The biggest risk is, in the event of a panic, getting your gains out and trusting the exchanges not to shut down with your dividends.

I seriously don't care, i'm in it for the long run, i've only spend as much as i'm willing to lose, any profit made is nice, I don't care what the price is tomorrow, or the next month (or it should hit my target but I don't see that happening), everyone was so optimistic, can't even read "to the moon" anymore, no look many of you.. This is still investing, gambling is part if investing, especially in a volatile market such as Bitcoin. And for people crying, as always never, ever spend more that you are willing to lose completely.

Next big dip in 5-10 minutes, if not, expect a bounce up (but won't last)

The worrying thing (for me) is that on the okcoin.com exchange, small volumes (200BTC to 300BTC in one minute) are causing huge price adjustments.

What would happen if a manipulator decided to drop a few thousand BTC onto the exchange? That would be fun. Lol.

Hilarious how people are putting up walls the push the price down even lower. Because it isn't bad enough yet. The best tech invention in ages completely destroyed by a bunch of traders.

you are aware of that traders dont pull bitcoins out of their ass? every coin they sell had to be bought before, so that leaves you in the end in +/- 0 situation were traders dont influence the longterm price of bitcoin at all.

Lol.

You are aware than the exchanges can put whatever numbers they want on your screen?

How do you know they have enough BTC for your withdrawal? Remember this is an unregulated market. There is no come-back if the BTC have been spent.

Considering that we broke a multi-year log trend line like that (the only sign of an uptrend left pretty much) is not exactly your usual crash.
But maybe it's just me  Roll Eyes

Word on the street, if you were in the loop, is that this was all planned. The actor - or actors -  if he has some friends are/were targeting the the GOX price at time of collapse.  My understanding is there was talk of attempting to borrow a large number of BTC to make it happen.  If so, and I'm not saying I necessarily believe it, this could be a setup for another shattering upwards movement.  So be warned, the short game may be over, and if so, you and everyone else is going to be tricked over and over on the way up just like the longs were on the way down.
Sounds like BS to me tbh, are you referring to the post on XRPtalk Walsoraj posted here?

No, I'm not.  It may or may not be BS, we'll probably never know.  I personally find the method in which this all occurred a little odd.  MASSIVE market dumping to gauge market reaction.  No reaction?  Queue another massive market dump.   If it is true, with any luck the worst is over and there will be ~24-48 hrs of fallout until some footing is found.

 Grin

Bitcoin will drag everyone down with it. But crypto will survive.

We need a crypto that can serve humanity's needs for the next 100 years. Bitcoin cannot do this. It's unfortunate that Bitcoin has died, but it has to be this way. Bitcoin achieved so much. No other crypto would be where it is today without the achievement of Bitcoin.

However, I don't trust any exchange to honour such a short. There's blood on the streets now. There'll be tears of blood at sub-$100.

Is anybody going to buy?
I'm a lot of $ down but would anybody recommend buying now?

I've been looking at these chart patterns for years and this is not a trend reversal pattern. It may go up a little but then another wave of selling will bring it back.

I agree.

Someone on reddit wrote "this is gentlemen" instead of "this is it gentlemen" during a price pump a few months ago. Everyone was all giddy with the price increase they made "gentlemen" into a thing like "to da moon". True story.

"This is gentleman"

Not sure what it means myself. Kinda foreign. It's sorta poetic (especially in the context of the panic and all the silly memes and gifs). Made me smile a few days ago when I first read on Reddit. Started using it here.

is anyone paying attention to the macroeconomic picture? The Swiss National Bank shocked world markets by removing it's peg to the Euro, causing it's value to skyrocket. Two systemic Greek banks are using an emergency liquidity tool at the ECB to try and prevent a bank run.  Oil Tanked and Gold spiked. This is 2008 all over again only worse this time.

How this will affect Bitcoin is anyone's guess, but I'm starting to think even my 2.5% margin long was way too premature.

Bank runs mean extreme DEFLATION of national currencies until the central banks ramp up the printing presses, start accepting used toilet paper as collateral and various other forms of counterfeiting.

Wealth is going to evaporate, credit is going to dry up and markets are going to crash with the exception of the safest government bonds (U.S., Swiss and maybe a few others).

I've warned many times for everyone to get their coins (and even fiat) off the exchanges if you aren't going to trade, but now I am saying it may soon be time to get your fiat out of the banks.

Potential bank run in the small Greek banks? So what.

What's the worst that can happen? The ECB step in and take over the banks' assets and loan books?

And besides, Greece is about 1% of the Euro (if even).

Maybe upward triangle? We're back in the action-danger-zone that is violent and volatile Bitcoin. People seem to dump tons of BTC at once, so briefly breaking through supports doesn't mean Jack if you ask me.

It's like trying to put a square through a round hole at this stage.

We're almost full circle at this point. The dots are there - they just need to be joined up.

The straw that breaks the camel's back will be the triangulation which will lead on to great capitulation and we'll all be on the final road straight home then.

Bitfinex seems best for volume but how do we know it won't get hacked? Has it got better security? Some posts here claimed it was dodgy.

well use Kraken then, they prove by auditing that they are not hacked at least. Bitfenix just has a lot of features people use and it has the highest volume of all exchanges.

Well if you know a exchange is missing 20 000 btc I wouldn't trade on it. It is just a matter of time until they have to close.

Here's my direct personal experience with Kraken (like less than 48 hours ago).

Agree with this (and the imagery - Bitcoin is a toxic brand that is unmarketable pretty much everywhere).

But Bitcoin still has a very important role: a central pivot point into emerging developments (such as Ripple, Stellar, NXT,...)

Without Bitcoin surviving for at least another year, they will find their job very, very difficult. But as time goes on and deals are done with banks and governments, the Bitcoin pivot will become less and less important.

It's in everyone's interest to keep the old steam engine serviceable for another while yet!!!

Bitcoin, while as a currency is not doing as well as hoped, is being re-branded as The Blockchain in the media. Bitcoin outputs will become various assets and reserve currencies. Ripple and Stellar will be replaced by Tether. NXT and all the other stake-based asset discussions belong elsewhere. Bitcoin is in a chrysalis state and will be reborn as a much more powerful and robust asset class.

Sigh.

You are demonstrating to everyone here that you haven't a clue what you are talking about.

As for Bitcoin "rebranding". Well, at least they're finally beginning to accept the idea that Bitcoin is toxic and needs root and branch reform if it is to have any hope of surviving the next few years.

BTC down 35.19% vs USD in the last 30 days.  I'm okay with that Cool

BTC up 1000% since Jan 2013. What's your point?

Down 65.62% in the last 6 months.  What's yours?

Up like 300 000% in the last 6 years. What's yours?

Like I said, I'm calling up the known troll (Lamb Chops) on his stupid, arbitrary assertions.

Has anybody noticed that even at 200 nobody wants to buy Bitcoin.

And yet i see all these idiots here dreaming about how we will go up soon.
How far in the sand can your head be.

They're so focused on the price, in a trance over how to build a better rig and obsessed about how to draw better lines on screens all day; yet completely oblivious to the new developments bubbling around Wall Street and Silicon Valley at the moment.

I worry that the nutjob Bitcoin community will start infesting other high quality websites that are currently gaining a lot of traction.

The current average cost of production of bitcoins is in excess of $300. Purchasing a good below cost of production is considered cheap. Make the most, it wont last.

Warped logic.

When you rent a house, is your rent determined by what the landlord's mortgage is? No - rent is determined by the market. It matters diddly squat how much electricity it cost to create the BTC.

Easily resolved by lowering the difficulty. Next.

The actual cost is around 90$, for some miners even less.

There are huge upfront costs to be able to mine a BTC for $90.

Maybe if you are mining in mommy's basement with cheap electricity, but even then you are limited by your electric service.

quite a few people just plug directly into the street power supply or hot wire and bridge over their meter.

Even then the numbers don't add up.

If you spend $1000 on hardware, you'd need about 3 or 4 years of 24/7/365 electricity to break even.

It doesn't.. Bitcoin is not a mass adopted global currency, yet.

Speculators who are becoming increasingly irrelevant as the days and weeks go by.

Doubt it. Bitcoin is becoming less and less significant (was it ever anything other than an ultra-volatile speculation?) as the days go by.

Bitcoin's market cap was never more than $13bn. It's struggling to stay above $3bn at the moment.

So, I think you severely overestimate Bitcoin's importance and/or influence.

The Greece leaving the Euro scenario that you talk about has already been priced in to the markets (i.e. gold, Swiss Franc, GBP, oil, etc.) Bitcoin? Are you mad?

Excuse me, but how do you conclude into such a verdict? Gold/Oil/GBP entangled with an economy which it's debt is a 1.3% fraction of the total EU GDP? I'm sorry to spoil it, but it's not so.

That's right. Bitcoin is the answer.

Anyway, the magnitude of the Greek economy isn't the major worry - the major worry is contagion and the impact of Greece on the Euro project and Euro unity.

I doubt it is. But just for the record when the ECB last year closed the liquidity vane to Cyprus banks, BTC was used as a way out of there. Doubt it it's a possible scenario for Greece too?

It didn't really work out, did it?

Ripple is an impressive and astounding accomplishment in marketing hoax. Ripple Labs has successfully painted their brand as friendly and amenable to establishment players, yet there is practically zero adoption whatsoever, and Ripple requires establishment adoption because there is essentially no way for it to be useful on a purely peer-to-peer basis. The business model of Ripple Labs depends on XRP being preferred as a reserve currency for building exchange paths, yet the massive founder holdings and mickey mouse lolfunbucks distribution swings like a sword of damacles of counterparty risk over any possible appreciation due to adoption in that way. Ripple is absolutely terrifying, because I am hard pressed to think of any FUD story that is unfairly hoisted upon Bitcoin that doesn't turn out to be literally true about Ripple.
The way I understand it is that the ripple network is less dependant on XRP that what you are describing. It is mostly a bridge currency, useful but not that necessary in my view.

Also, we perfectly know who holds the XRPs, the same cannot be said for the top bitcoin whales who own 50k-100k coins.

Recently we have seen integration with Fidor bank, Earthport and others. The "adoption" ripple labs is going for is doing pretty fine if you ask me. On top of that, the technology is still very new.

I think the dudes at Ripple Labs are onto something huge, and that is actually useful. I'm not 100% convinced on XRP as an investment long term tho.

Spot on. Hard to find good posts like this. The Bitcoin community is not a nice place anymore.

Do you have any tips for us about anal? The two minute thing is probably especially true with anal. Since you wrote less paragraphs that probably got skipped.

No idea if trolling, but I don't give a shit I'll look for any excuse to talk about sex:

In order to get it at all, you've got to be considered a good guy, so make sure you put in the time before hand and you have a good relationship over all. Keep in mind that you are essentially asking her for the equivalent of "hey honey, you know, I'd really like to stick a dildo up your ass. It would get me off so hard. Would you do it for me?" What would you say to that? If it's "hell fucking no never on your life," then isn't it kind of unfair to ask her to do it? Now if it was "ehhh I'd only do it for her if I really loved her, and not really that often..." then you get where your average woman will be on that. You can keep rolling the dice until you find a girl that likes it, but you can be rolling dice until you die trying to hit that number.

Be especially nice to her the week before you ask, don't be surprised if she says no, if she says yes, get her off first, use lots of lube, start with a finger, and dear god go fucking slower than you've ever slowed in your entire life until/unless she is showing signs of being into it (i.e. sighing in almost assuredly fake ecstasy instead of saying "ow" or slapping the bed in obvious pain). You've got to stretch her out first, if yanno what I mean. Even then, don't ever pound it like it's your goddamn fleshlight.

TBH it's in your best interest, anyway: most porn stars do enemas before anal sex scenes. If she's never done it before/hasn't done it often, her preparation will often involve making sure the area is clean and she didn't eat a big dinner, which is nowhere near enema levels of, ahem, safety. I'll leave you to figure out the finer details of what I'm getting at, here. Let's just say, her body needs to, autonomically prepare for it, as well. So go slow.

As for lasting, uhh to state the obvious, the faster you are, the better. Get it done, jerk off a bit and get yourself excited before hand, whatever you have to to get it done. Definitely don't get off with her when you get her off first, though you can, like, position yourself so she can stroke you and get you all excited so you go quicker.

If you don't follow all that advice, don't be surprised if you only get it once (or want it once, depending on how unlucky you both are and how atrociously it went), and don't expect it often in any case. For the vast majority of women, it is a sexual act that is entirely for you, so in the interest of fairness, you'd better be okay with some blue balls on some nights if she has work the next day or some shit (and it would help if you have already proven that, though that could be part of your "extra nice the week before" routine).

Personally I don't worry about it too much. A lot of work for relatively little gain. I'd take a good blowjob over it any day, and most girls will give you at least a decent one of those without any hassle at all.

Hahaha.

Basically, you've admitted you're a white knight orbiter. If you orbit long enough, you might get a sniff!
