This entire line of conversation is a stark reminder that it does not matter what currency dominates the world. At the end of the day, rich people still will look down on poor people so nothing will ever change in that capacity. Rich people will be dorkier than they are today, but just as hateful and oppressive as rich people have ever been.
Really sad and depressing way to start the morning.

+1
Their manipulation of the BTC market is annoying too. That is on topic, after all isn't this the wall movement tracker thread? It's their walls that are messing everything up. If more money does come into BTC then even they won't be able to afford to do that any more, which will let BTC reflect its true value and can only be a good thing. That is of course until the scumbag banks join in with even bigger walls of course.
There's truth to that but a bank is amoral. It's just a building. It's the people that make it "evil". We're just trading one group of greed, oppressive bastards for another. Heck, a few pages back or so there was talk of starting their own bank in some other country. See, Bitcoin is not about hating the banks, its about not being in control. They want to take control from the current rich and powerful, so they can be the ones in control and be the same greedy bastards we have now.
You know what...I'm going to the beach to hang out with the lowly poor people. As I refer to me, them, most of us...the mainstream. Not about to wreck my day over a stupid thread.
Thanks for the +1 brother.
+1 from me too.
I don´t know how to think about you.
A few pages back you made panic and talked some "bear"shit and now such a good statement.
For "panic sell" spamming please start your own thread.
I´m glad not to ignore you or anybody else, but stop spamming "bear"shit and talk like that post above more often.
Thanks

As Risto says in his post May 17, "It will probably be no more than 100,000 euros, since it does not seem that any intentional theft of bitcoins occurred." So, 100k Euro is a bit less than $12,000k, probably had nothing to do with the selloff from the Dwolla news. Also, he says that the whole getting arrested and put in psychiatric detention is normal for him, so it does not seem he "cracked" from anything.
Of course, who knows about anything he says . . . It all seems too fanciful to be true, but at the same time it seems too strange to make up.

100k Euro are a bit more than 127k Dollar.

Maybe we see some movement today.
Now, the Ask Wall on bitstamp is more than 2500BTC smaller than yesterday.

Well, I have just (20 Minutes ago) sold my BTC on bitstamp at 118.97, looking how its a high for bitstamp in the last days, and mt.gox is relatively low (119 to 122.5 is a price difference of only 3.5).
Time will tell me (quite shortly) whether it was wise, as I can rebuy cheaper, or dumb because I have to buy in again at the same price.
The good thing is that the price can't really run away (since there are endlessly many sell offers before it reaches 120).

My plans are ruined at BitStamp for the moment. Guess I'll just sit back and watch.

2800 BTC before we go over 120. Buy wall is growing slightly and the ask wall is coming down.
What plans? Continually sell at 118.xx and buy again at 117.xx to lower your fee cost?

I don´t believe that the price on bitstamp, drop back to 117.xx, with this buying pressure right now.

Wallzilla killed the volume.
I'm really curious as to why there's a wall in many currencies.
Gox has only one market for all currencies. The bids/asks in any given currency are converted to show in all other currencies, with a exchange fee built in. The fee does not go to Gox, since they ironically are not licensed to exchange between various fiat currencies. Instead the fee goes to their bank, which does the actual fiat exchange.
The upshot is that if you place a bid in USD it shows up in Pounds, Euros, Baht, whatever else as well.
Source: MagicalTux in irc a few weeks ago.
That's how it works. It's in their FAQ, BTW
That´s not right.
Every currency has its own market on Gox.
Look at the Canadian Dollar chart or at the polish Zloty at Gox and compare it with the USD,GBP or EUR chart.
Every market has another volume.

Think before you type.
First, Bitcycle told you he is quoting Karpeles from IRC, so you should give him some credit.
Secondly, I'm telling you to check it in Gox's FAQ
Thirdly, and most important, look at the different currencies at Gox. You will see that if there was independent ask/bids for every currency,
there would be no liquidity in any market except the USD. Then, check the walls. Isn't it strange for you that you have walls of the same proportion in every currency?
And finally, check
MtGox's FAQ:
Q. Do you keep independent ask/bid tables for different currencies?
A. No, ask/bid tables for different currencies are not independent. All currencies are relative to whichever currency has the highest volume, which is based on said currencies current market price in bitcoin. Every trade is in one pool and in fact, not are not separate currency markets. This allows users the added benefit of trading in "the greater market" -in currencies they understand- while not limiting them to smaller currency markets.
For example, if a buy order for bitcoins is placed in EUR, the order can be executed against another user selling bitcoins in any currency and not necessarily only against another user selling bitcoins in EUR.
EDIT: well, niothor was quicker than me

Well both of you are right.
I have just compared the markets on bitcoinity.
I´ve read it on the FAQ too.
Thanks.

Just another question.
Why is the wall not on every currency at bitcoinity?
It's on every currency but its "height" depends on relative volume, thus you may see it much smaller in some currencies.
For the two currencies with bigger volume (USD and EUR) you will usually see the walls with pretty much the same proportion.
Thank you very much.
Now I understand it.

Just a warning:
15 minutes ago I received an email from Mt. Gox with a requested password recovery link. Thing is, I didnt request this.
I now tried to log into my account with my old pw and it doesnt work.
I have 2-step turned on on gox AND my email account and nobody has access to my email account anyway.
This is at least strange and I just wanted to send this out as a warning.
It was the same at my acc.
This is the IP:67.165.253.176.
Luckily I have 2FA too and the support told me that there has been no withdrawal today, but I am not able to login the next 24h.

volume and this thread are dead.
RIP
Most of the spamming, which has been in this thread before, is now on the tradingview trollbox.
Its a bit annoying to find the useful trading tips in there.
Since guys have spotted a female trader(Beauty Bubble), they all are going crazy when she enters the chatbox.
Then you can see 20 posts/minute there.
I mean to say, please stop spamming the trollbox, its not btce, because sometimes, there are really good analyses and advices for good trading possibilities and it is a waste of time to go through all the trolling posts.
Have a nice day.

That would be great.
Normally I have no problem with spamming, but the chatbox is really tiny,
so you have to scroll a lot and its not very comfortable to read.

Truth is their customer base in Japan is only like 90% smaller than the US and euro customer base. So they probably don't give a fuck about 1 or 2 people withdrawing yen. So that's not representative of their possible problems at all.
Look at the Mt.Gox Yen chart:
http://bitcoincharts.com/markets/Since a week ago there is more and more volume.
Now near 2.5k today.

Has anyone noticed all this automated bot activity lately? 5 rapid fire trades at a time, both up and down, 1 BTC - 0.01 BTC at a time. Meanwhile large orders on the buy and sell side repeatedly appear and disappear within seconds, always at the same location and for roughly the same amounts.
Someone needs to tweak their bots.
Snapshot:
http://imgur.com/sa11LVqWhat's interesting to me is that even though the log will show 5 trades, the order book will only show 1 of them actually making a deduction to the leading order at the time. So while it looks like 5 btc is being sold at a time, its only 1 btc.
The only way I figure they're doing this is to add 4 BTC to the bid order at precisely the same time that they add to the sell order, thus it "looks' like more volume is getting pumped through. Someone must be paying through the nose in trading fees to do this.
Thats an issue of clarkmoody´s site, happened to me sometimes too.
Have nothing to do with bots.
Use i286(free), there is no such problem:

An observation:
Last March/April, during the media coverage, my friends and family were interested in hearing about bitcoin, but not a single one took the next step and purchased any.
But now, upon hearing about the recent run-up, three people in my network are making small purchases. They are starting to believe there's really something to it.
So, its a bubble?
What would make you think that?
When people start buying in to something because the price is going up, to me.. that sounds like a bubble scenario.
I think people are seeing the value of their fiat going down. I think they are just trying to get rid of that soon to worthless fiat and see BTC as safe.
That seems pretty crazy and unlikely to me, considering BTC's volatility and specifically, the bubble and subsequent pop 6 months ago. I also don't think the average person views their fiat as "soon to be worthless". That's a bit extreme.
The average person loves their fiat, has a high degree of confidence in 'cold hard cash' as a safe haven, and thinks that anything else is probably a scam.
When you tell someone about btc it's like initiating them out of the matrix.
Like you said, the "average person" loves their FIAT.
No "smart person" in history has ever kept his FIAT, he converted it as fast as he can into something different, like commodities, realities, etc. something with a real value.

Anyway, just continue. Nothing brings me more joy than watching jokers like you and Rampion lose their coins because they think they know it all.
I wouldn't normally waste time on taking issue with this sort of thing, but in the few months that I've been using this forum, I've seen that all of your posts are derogatory and not in the slightest bit constructive. You sound like a whining teenager. Consider yourself added to my ignore list.
I like shroomsy´s hate comments.
He took the advice from Blitz, Rampion and others and sold on the way down to 65$, then he got burnt.
I can see it in front of my closed eyes, everytime he see a posting from some of them, his pulse is going to 180, he gets red and begins to snuffle.
Very amusing everytime.

Last time I checked it was not so serious. There is quite an interesting thread about this particular exchange here on BT.

There is a daily withdrawal limit of 10btc, but if you call the support, they would increase the limit.
