What have we come to when 350 BTC can persuade the market?  Quit stalling and get on with it BTCChina.

It's not particularly bold unless a disruptive X factor of news comes along.

There's nothing that indicates doing anything.  So far we're somewhat repeating what happened 24 hours ago, but the volume is actually even more tame.  I'm not certain anyone cares to run the price up like last night; perhaps just let it malinger on as per usual this week.

What if someone can't repay the loan? Do you have to go to a collection agency or bitfinex takes care of it and credits you back anyways?  Grin

They send out the kneecappers, of course.

Haha, bids sure piled ontop of $700 at Gox fast.  Hurry, move the wall up...  Hopefully nobody breaks wind in that direction and knocks it over.

I wonder if the grinch is out, ready to start screwing with $701 on Gox.  I wish I could tell him, "HEY!  Get away from there!  You better not...you better not."

Can everyone call truce for a few hours?  Just freeze all activity, dead stop so I can look at the guests that are visiting and show them a map to the airport.

Ugh.  I believe I sold my part at the right moment, but we shall see if China ends up caring about a workaround or not.  LTC went apesh*t while BTC just casually peeked its head up, not sure if we'll be sticking around or drifting back for the remainder of the year.

10. Post 4156439 (copy this link) (by RandyMagnum) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_11.46h):

I'm just going to focus on the momentum across exchanges for the next few days.  We were hit with an X factor that thwarts traditional analysis and is only predictable through voodoo or insider information.

I hit my tuck-tale and buy back in price a couple late nights ago when OKCoin started their workaround for deposits.  It stings at first, but I maintain that in crypto, opportunities are on a carousel and patience is often rewarded.  I'm thankful to have always recovered and gained ground at some point after taking a hit.  My best recovery story in crypto was $40k in 12 days of riding waves.

You may not make it up today, tomorrow, or even in a month, but the market will provide entries and exits worth acting upon in time.

Does anyone trust the Huobi volume...more than all other exchanges combined?

I can't let go of the idea that Huobi is treading on very shaky ground with their workaround.

Am I wrong to believe that what the owner is doing is dubious at best and otherwise potentially illegal?  I imagine he has found a vague loophole that would allow him some legal wiggle room should he be pressed.

I feel like I'm in a foxhole watching the front line.  Where's that Sunday panic volume to get back in for the week?  Every exchange is snoozing.  Who will fire first?  Mexican standoff in full effect.

We'll just have to wait for the kids to get out of school in China and start running the markets again; maybe another 3 hours unless some of them have after school clubs.  I'm starting to believe the market's ebb and flow is in their hands.  And Huobi is on notice, btw.

what this means?

Nothing substantiated, just another conspiracy along the lines of why OKCoin was called into question a short time ago.

How much of a hike?

The back n' forth here covers it pretty well:

I'm positive that it is in fact a year late and was either ignorance, or an attempt at FUD.  As I believe that is the case, forgive me for even mentioning it in the first place.

I am under the impression that day tarders cannot possibly reduce taxes anyway by opening a new position and/or transferring coins offline. Is this correct?

The US capital gains changes took effect Jan 1st 2013, so it is 2014 which is the first return year. If CGT is to be saved then bitcoins would have to have been sold in 2012.

This is correct.  Again, I was too slack in posting that to begin with.

I will say in reply to his snowstorm story, that much of the US is experiencing a "polar vortex" and my flights were cancelled for 3-4 days as of Monday.  Flight crews couldn't get to their planes, etc.  It's been a terrible week for many who are travelling home after the holidays, me.  Many bus lines are experiencing the same problems.  It's plausible to just be having a crap week and other priorities.

Fiat will always pile up on Mt.Gox because you can't withdraw.  The surplus of fiat is no surprise.  What makes Mt. Gox bullish is the lack of coins on offer.  The coins are on stamp, btce, bfx, or in china.

Of course, who wants to sell BTC for Gox bux?  I wish we could see the numbers on BTC transfers in/out of Gox.

Wow I've never seen a wall that big.
I can't see it. Where and how big?
On BTC-E. Is that not a wall at 900?

Let me guess... Bitcoinity?

It doesn't mean that it is super big just because it is steep and maxes out the graph. 500 coins is not very big.

It was 1,000 a few minutes ago if you zoomed bitcoinity out.  That's a laughably large wall for BTC-e, a speedbump most other places.  I've traded there for a year and would say most BTC-e traders look at that, chuckle, and say, "I'll come back later."

Depends on what you mean by "volume."

It's currently the lowest trade volume over the past few hours relative to the same span of time on Huobi since the 1st of January.

I've seen the wall on BFX 4 times in 2 days.  It couldn't be more obvious now.  Bitstamp has some weak hands that react early and hard when it posts, perhaps they'll eventually learn.
