This is the HARDCORE movement tracker right? Should be the right place for that kind of observation

EDIT: Yes, I am that bored by it, too.

I have a feeling that when it happens, its going to happen fast. Don't know what "it" is yet, but we will see.

How many hours till we hit 80?
Its 11.30pm EST.. time to sleep... i want to see this...
Hitting 80 might not be possible today, though, if we breach 100 it
could be a blood bath. I bet on the downtrend because I believe that's where we are headed. I don't know the bottom though.

Holy shit that was a crazy ride. Bought at 103 seconds before it jumped to 111. Don't know what to think now. Still think sub 100s after this thing runs its course.
Sell for 109 wait a couple hours and buy back for 95
unloaded half at 110. The rest went for 107. Was kind of panicking

(I only started trading bitcoins 4 days ago!)

I think a lot of people are in denial. We are going back to double digits, even if briefly. Probably. If the highs are getting consecutively lower, the history of BTC price, etc. it seems like a downtrend really is the case, and I've been thinking that since we shot up to 120. I don't know about pumping power though.

It is called a "cup-and-handle". It is a very bullish formation.
I will be able to post a summary of my trades in Gox in 5.-7. May to this thread if it is deemed to be orderly, and there is at least some public demand. I am quite satisfied with the outcome, and would like the others to learn the secrets as well. Please don't contact me personally if you are not willing and/or able to pay my consulting fee of 10,000m

ten btc an hour consulting fee, prepaid in 15 minute increments... i really have no words to express my thoughts on this. even if his trading advice was reliably good.

Why can't the bears and bulls call it a truce at $120 so we can all sleep...
surely $100 at least for a truce

How about $5000 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and $1 on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, with a flat $2500 on Sunday so that we can have a day off?
Maybe then I could finally make some money - and see the outside world
How about you learn the dedication of the warrior--and realize it takes years of training and life or death battles in order to hone the skills necessary to stand amongst the greats?
Like anything in life nothing is easy, expecting it to be easy is just going to get you in hot water.

Wow. The old thread took almost 1yr to reach 1200 pages. This thread is only 23 days old and already up to 340 pages. Will a new thread be made each month? I guess the trolls and newbs need their place. And what better place for a troll to hang out, than this thread with all the new accounts posting seeking advice, fresh blood for the taking. If you are getting your trading advice from this subforum, you are letting others toy with your emotions and getting played by the trolls. You can trade profitably without ever visiting this subforum so why are you letting others tell you what to do? Emotions have no place in trading, other than manipulation. This subforum should be used for entertainment purposes only.
You know good and well there are many traders with $50k+ bankrolls to trade with, the walls tell you as much, but yet you don't see any of those people posting advice here? You are listening to people who have no clue what is actually going on, or either they do have a clue and know exactly what their doing to you. Saying the price will go up and a day later down, pushing and pulling you back and forth trying to make a decision until you're an emotional wreak that makes bad trading decisions. Don't let others determine the price of your coins.
Well fuck me. Here I thought this thread was for keeping track of wall observing.

still finding it difficult understanding why so many here are expecting a big dip, wasn't around the last bubble or any other investment bubble for that matter, but there's a lot of fiat sitting in exchanges atm wanting to get back in.
Correction, hoping for a big dip. Here's how it works.
If you have all BTC, you're a bull. Rocket fuel, to the moon, China is a super power. Even bears stfu when they have BTC.
If you're currently sitting with no BTC, it's bubble, crash, Gox sux, charts with lines, chick little in da house.
Most people don't even believe what they say, they are just hoping for the market to go up/down to suit their needs. Don't bother asking them to explain, they'll just shit more FUD in your lap. Everyone else who isn't bullshitting the forum, is just speculating. Because no one really has a clue. If the guys making the charts could actually predict the market movements, they'd be rich and they wouldn't be on here making charts trying to convince people. People make charts to convince themselves, and if people agree that's all the better.
And a few of us actually
do believe what we bet on, hence the betting. Nothing else to do but wait.

I'm guessing a continued downtrend, or irrational rally leading to an even bigger crash. Maybe.

You must be great at parties.
http://i.imgur.com/p9XJw.gifI'm simply trying to remain as rational as possible. I'm no bear, nor bull, I am a dragon; albeit a baby dragon.
Short term, I believe there will be a downtrend. Long term, I definitely believe in an uptrend.
Mid term, now... that's the mystery.
Anything could happen, but to me these are the most logical conclusions.

Or monetization?
Problem is I don't really think bitcoins are worth as much as they are now. Even counting hype I'd say $75, and that's very generous considering many of the hyper bears out there.

Hyper-monetization: Questioning the "Bitcoin bubble" bubbleTL;DR: for money, the higher the value, the more interesting it becomes.
To imagine how different this is from a classic asset bubble, it would be as if not only the price of bubble-era houses were rising, but also that their actual sought-after qualities as houses were improving spontaneously at the same time. Such houses might sprout new rooms with no one building them, with new paint jobs appearing mysteriously overnight without any painters having visited.
I can't even that article.
I mean I English,
but I can't even.
I get the gist. If you're saying that the game has changed, I think so too. Right now though, I don't see much reason to be short term bullish.
Edit: That being said... this is bitcoin we're talking about.

Incidentally, a stable price while 3600 new coins are produced each day means the value of Bitcoin is actually on the rise.
To be honest I'm pretty sure this volume isn't normal and neither is MtGox right now. Something has to be up, it's literally dead right now.
Also, if the "true value" is lower than what it is now (I'm sure that it probably is) the rising value per new coins doesn't mean much.
Also doesn't a bigger supply mean a lower demand? Wait how does that work with bitcoin?

I have discovered some slightly positive news for you guys. In the past 24 hours, while Mt Gox volume has been very low (relative to recent weeks), Bitstamp has not seen as severe of a drop. Of course it is only one small data point. But it would be awesome if the Gox monopoly was weakening.
http://s21.postimg.org/ookyiri3r/24hour_btc_vol.pngFor reference, in the past Gox has almost always had at least 10x higher volume than any other exchange. Here we see Gox having less than 4x the volume of Bitstamp.

Well just based on my deductive skills I'm guessing the traditional family wanted a Chinese wife. I hate that xenophobic thinking so prevalent among Asian cultures

This is more or less how it has been done for the last 10,000 years.
The last 200 years in the west odds are is just a fad or an anomaly of history.
I don't have an issue other than I think it's kind of lame.
You have to remember that for 10,000 years we also did stuff like not practice hygiene and died of colds, or sacrifice people to the sun

Once, when asked about his gut feeling, Carl Sagan said: "I'd really rather not think with my gut, my brain does the job a lot better"

Don't prodigies and athletes use the least amount of brain power? In fact high level operation has often been (curiously) linked to lower brain activity. Perhaps this has something to do with the subconscious. Anyways, I'm sticking to what I thought 10 or so days ago: downtrend.

I'm getting super impatient. This pretty much sums up the market at the moment. Everyone thinks they will be able to get cheaper coins... but the longer they wait, the less likely that becomes. Once the bids exceed the all time high (not far off), I can see a massive spell of panic buying ensuing.
I'm willing to buy back in at a loss, even if it makes me bleed out, it's been far too long for the case to be otherwise, however, I'm still kind of thinking that BTC is overvalued at the moment. I'm leaving emotion out of this. It seems like bulls are always the same, and while I'm not a bear I just can' see sustainable growth right now.

When the products/ deals/ whatever they spawn are announced (or before they are announced), make no mistake, it will be vicious and many hoping for cheap coins will be left on the sidelines.
I'm certain the long term is up. I don't know about the mid term. Short term I'm certain is down.
Try to keep the insulting aura to a minimum, anyways what you do is your own decision, but if we
do go down, it'll be the greed-full bulls who go down as well.
edit: i'm not a bear

Bullshit, I say.
Maybe we're not going to see a major upward breakout over the weekend, but I don't see any real chance for a downward breakout approaching 100 at the moment. Not with an order book filled to the brim, money flow continuing to be positive and 3 different oscillators saying we're oversold.

It's possible we'll go down lower still. Depends on the scope of this seizure - if it will also affect direct ACH transfers to and from Mt. Gox that's going to be bad news. Dwolla -> Mt. Gox doesn't really affect the big players.
Going by the post on Mt. Gox's Facebook they have NO idea what is being asked of them yet.
Yeah I have to be honest I'm kind of antsy right now. Are we going to see a full rebound or even rally? Or is this ship about to sink? That's the real question right now. Logic tells me we are going to tank, however, BTC doesn't like to listen to what makes sense.

I am slightly amazed. The news last night was fairly scary and the users online on reddit kept going up so panic was on the air, but the price has not even blinked. That seems to be because the best thing to do yesterday was to buy not sell because since they seized fiat, you want to convert the fiat to bitcoin.
However, in terms of pricing, the news calls for a correction.
Does that therefore mean that the selling has been delayed due to practical considerations and therefore a correction is due?
I actually would think so, ATM I'm waiting to sell again, with each new high lower than the last and all, but this is really tricky, nothing in BTC surprises me anymore and movement aught to be considered carefully.

...I really hope this guy goes to jail. In my life i have seen such an incompetence....
savers lose their hard earned money. Just one catastrophic failure after the other and never learn.
Please. You're on
*speculation forum* bitching about an overseas currency exchange. You are not a saver. You're a speculator -- chin up, bud!
I am not a saver, but i wouldn't say that there are not any saver around using mtgox and losing money with MtGox Lag or even at this very moment with their inhability to log into MtGox (or maybe yesterday night with ANOTHER outage).
Whoah. Savers are unaffected by lag -- only traders can get hurt. The money changers. Savers are fine (stupid to use Mt.Gox as a bank, but fine otherwise).
There are some services that need 24x7 SLAs and have to run 99,99% of the time. Mt Gox service compared with another IT company online-rate would compare to a potato chips third league online webpage. They are playing with people's money and they should start to be 24x7. They are hurting all the Bitcoin economy.
The only money Mt.Gox is playing with is that of ultra-high risk traders, who are willing to use Gox's services knowing full well how bad they are. Part of the game.
And to those saying (why don't you do it youself?): If my son needs to go to the hospital and they cut off the other leg, i cannot complain because the doctor would say (hey!! why didn't you learn medicine?)
If you took your son to a totally unregulated hospital, and your friends, family & everyone with nothing better to do told you how awful the hospital is, and that wrong legs of children are cut off dayly... What was the question again?
He actually has a right to be pissed. It's one thing to be screwed by the market itself, but how would you feel if you lost money in your bank account because your bank fucked up?
As for me, this sort of shit is inevitable. How old is BTC? How old is MtGox?
We are taking a journey through the new world, you can't expect less, hell, it should be worse.
EDIT: Though, I'm pretty pissed at
America all the time so I don't blame MtGox for any American centric issues.

My point is lousy exchanges are a part of unregulated market (as it stands -- i'm not saying it's intrinsic to lack of regulation). A trader is responsible for taking all the risks into account.
You're right.
And to be honest, I kind of like this "unregulated" market.

Spiked at $116, just saying.

A far shot from the 125 resistance, futile.
It seems like bulls never give up. They might be right, but I've been thinking downtrend for a while now, but this is the first time enough things have gone wrong for me to really have a bit more confidence in that belief.
